A Picture is Still Worth A Thousand Words on Social Media Sites
When to Social Media advertising and campaigning a picture is still one of the most important aspects of your advertisement. Whether they’re looking at a billboard, a magazine, or a social media site people still relate more when there’s a visual present. Having pictures not only effect how your article or advertisement is viewed, but it also has a great impact on how it’s published or rated by others.
Although when it comes to blogging or article writing it’s important that it’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization). SEO does not read pictures or other graphics, but having the visuals does show that you are trying to enhance the quality of the work you’re presenting. This one small task like adding a picture that’s related to your content makes a big difference to your online readers and publishers.
If you’re an online journalist, or a journalist for a regular newspaper or magazine, surely you already know the difference a picture can make to your article. In fact, 87% of journalists say they never submit an article without a picture because having a picture increases their chances of being picked up by publishers.

It could be fun trying to capture the best picture to go along with your written work. However, if you’re not into photography and really don’t have time to take the pictures yourself, then you can always go online to find pictures. Google Images is a really good start. There are tons of pictures on all different topics. Do a search and find one that’s right for you. Be sure to check the copyright information because you want to be sure to stay within your legal rights of using these pictures. If Google doesn’t have what you’re looking for, then try other sites such as Flickr or Fotolia. Fotolia offers a free trial just so you can test the site to see if it has what you need.
The next time you sit to brainstorm your next best writing piece or the perfect words for your advertisement, don’t forget to also think of the perfect picture to go along with it. Remember, the goal is to attract as many people as possible. A picture can definitely help to make this happen. The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words,” is still true even in the world of social media.
